House Rules

Prior to check-out start a load of towels in the washing machine, remove any garbage and take the can to the end of the driveway and load dishes in the dishwasher and start the dishwasher.

Get the up north feel of a lake house, but only a 15 minute drive to both Grayling and Kalkaska.

There is ample parking in the driveway near the garage. Please park on concrete driveway if it snows during your stay to leave room to plow.

Crystal clear waters! It’s a mini torch lake! The house was very accommodating to our large group and the location was perfect! Tons of beds and the game room In basement along with the hot tub kept the kids busy! Highly recommend Nicks place!

The house and location are beautiful. I cannot say enough about it. The house was just as listed, and the surroundings were even more beautiful than the pictures. It was a wonderful stay. Nick was a fantastic host and extremely quick with his responses, which was very much appreciated.

We had a beautiful stay at the lake. The space was comfortable for three generations. The beds were great and the kitchen had all we needed. The best parts were the clear lake, the kayaks and paddle board, and the chairs on dock and decks. We took a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dune and Traverse City, but mostly relaxed at the house and enjoyed the water.

We enjoyed our stay! The beds were comfortable, the home was clean and in good shape. The only issue was due to the hot temperature outside, the upstairs was uncomfortable because the air conditioner control on the main floor was set to 70 but the upstairs did not cool off well. There were fans in each bedroom and that helped somewhat. We enjoyed renting the pontoon! We also enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. The lake was so clear and not too cold to play in. Nick was the perfect host and assisted us when needed.

Our family had the best time. Lots to do on the water with Kayaks and paddle board. It had a fun game room. The place was comfortable and had lots of sleeping space. I would highly recommend Nick’s place!!

Our group of six adults really enjoyed our stay at the Bear Lake Barnhouse. We rented side by sides from Rippin Razor rentals in St Helen & they delivered them and picked them up which is perfect because the trails are close by. We loved all the choices of fun things to do including the boat we decided to rent for our stay. Downtown Grayling is close by and the food at Ray's BBQ & Paddle Board was really good if your not feeling like cooking but if you do want to cook the kitchen is well equipped. There was even some oil, spices, foil & storage bags in the kitchen which was nice. We mostly ate out but we did cook hotdogs on the grill one night & enjoyed a bonfire afterwards during our 4 night stay. Nick was an excellent host very responsive & helpful. If in the area again with a group we would stay here again.
